Why is discipline important in business? Discipline equals freedom in life and in business. Life often brings us challenges; without them, you cannot thrive. To reset from life’s challenges, we must be disciplined to do what needs to be done. How you do it determines whether you go through the same challenge again.
Thriving through discipline
In the book The Science Of Getting Rich, Wallace D. Wattles talks about the fact that getting rich is not a bad thing. It’s not a secret that many of us have a terrible relationship with money. But at the end of the day, we are put on this planet to create and build, and we can’t do that without financial resources.
The problem comes when we are focused only on earning money. Why aren’t we focused on thriving instead? It takes discipline to achieve that. Discipline equals freedom only after implemented correctly. So, what is discipline? It is knowing what you need to do and then doing it. Then comes the question of how you are doing it. Do you lean into it, or are you only half-doing it?
Making the RIGHT choice
Deuteronomy 30:19 says: “I call on heaven and earth as witnesses today that I have offered you life or death, blessings or curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants will live.”
We are faced with decisions every single day. Discipline is making the right choice. So, what decisions are you making daily? And how are you implementing them?
Most of the time, you know what needs to be done, but you are not doing it. If you have discipline instilled, there is no way you are not doing what needs to be done. You’ll be able to do it even when it’s hard, when nobody is looking and when you don’t feel like it.
Why is discipline important?
Here’s the thing: Once you start learning and implementing what you’ve learned, you start moving faster. Why is self-control necessary in business? You begin attracting other people and elevating them as well equals freedom. Self-control leads to blissfulness. It’s inevitable.
When you bring discipline into your life, everything changes. Discipline leads to freedom and bliss. You don’t need to know everything. You just have to talk about what you know and be honest about what you don’t.
