Stop Worrying: Not Letting The Uncontrollable Control You

We live in a world where there is a constant struggle with not letting the uncontrollable control us. As humans, we are vulnerable to certain circumstances we find ourselves in, and we sometimes fall victim to these circumstances.

Not Letting The Uncontrollable Control You

Can we control the inevitable? There are so many things you can’t control. You can’t control how other people see you, how other people treat you, or how other people feel about you, and this makes us spend so much time and energy stressing about other people’s actions and opinions about us. Everyone is guilty of this, as it is in human nature to sometimes try to control what we can’t control.

When you try to control people, it drains you of your focus, your peace, and sometimes your beliefs. We can’t control people’s thoughts, beliefs, or what happens around the globe. But unfortunately, we let it control us – our mindset, our mood, our actions, our thoughts, and our beliefs. You can control how you treat people; for instance, we can control how we forgive. We often hold grudges, forgetting that we are the most tortured.

Focus on what we can control

The key to not letting the uncontrollable control you, is to know your capabilities and understand your limits. You can control who you spend time with. If you are unhappy in one area of your life, you can self-reflect and look for anchors or propellers.

Sometimes, it helps to slow down, and be mindful of how you spend your time. We all have 24 hours in a day, and so much can be done in just 6 hours, so spend quality time on quality things that will help push your life to the next level.

You can control where you put your focus. Focusing on the things you can control versus not focusing on the things you can’t control will radically change the way you behave. When you focus on things you can control, you get better at them, and you double down on them to become the best at them.

We can also control how we feel in a situation. Indeed, it’s important to be able to control your emotions so your emotions don’t end up controlling you.
