10 Practical Productivity Hacks

How to Get 3 Days of Productivity Out of 1 Day of Work

In today’s society, it seems like everyone is looking to make the most out of their daily schedule. Modern-day professionals have all ascribed to this go-go-go, always hustling, never taking a day off lifestyle. How do we set out to optimize the day to get the most out of it? Productivity hacks can help optimize the day and achieve your goals at a faster pace.

Optimize productivity: Ten productivity hacks that work

In order to actually optimize productivity of your day-to-day life, you need to expand your vision to a broader, more long-term perspective. Your goal of optimizing and maximizing daily productivity should align with your long-term goals for the future and where you want to see yourself in a few years or even a decade.

Here is how you can structure your days in order to optimize maximum productivity:

1. Have a morning routine

Build a routine that helps you grow. Wake up early, avoid checking your phone first thing when you wake up (this is the best habit you can build), and spend some time in silence with yourself and your thoughts.

2. Move your body.

You can only operate to the extent of your energy systems; the better you take care of your body, the more energy you will have so that you can operate at your highest potential.

3. Do a mental sweep.

If you did a mind sweep (or brain dump) the night before, use this time to restructure it. See if there is anything you missed, look at what you need to be aware of, and then map it out on the calendar. Use these three categories: urgent, this week, and someday. If you have these three categories, everything in your life will fall into them.

4. Categorize your communications

All too often, we get overwhelmed by the number of messages we get across all of the different platforms. One way to combat this is to create a bookmark folder with every single communication (email, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.), right-click the folder to open all, and go through all of your communications. If you use this system and check it for 30 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes at lunch, and 15 minutes at the end of the day, this can help prevent you from having to check your phone constantly throughout the day.

5. Learn constantly

Whether it’s structured learning, taking a course, or working towards a goal, if you are putting dollars in the meter every day, it’s that compounding interest that creates success.

6. Delegation and team time

Make time to connect with your team each day. If you’re a solopreneur, vacate your calendar each day to connect with yourself. Share lessons, outcomes, and concerns, and take time to appreciate your team members.

7. “Prospecting time” or “finder time”

This is when you can delve into your database and work on it, look at new leads, work on a new prospect that needs information, etc. Work your database to keep it clean; your database is your business.

8. Working on your SOP

Devise systems to streamline your process. Create and implement standard operating procedures and systems so you can flatten the learning curve.

9. Fix your creation timings

Have fixed slots for content creation and distribution on various platforms.

10. Community time

Take time to network. Browse through Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups, and forums, and engage with members of your community for shared learnings and breakthroughs.

Takeaway: Productivity hacks to maximize productivity

Map out what matters to you in your life. Take 60 seconds each day to write down what you want to do in 24 months. Examine the structure of your day and your goals to see if they are in alignment.

Know that you have to work for it; no one is going to do it for you. Tap into the power of consistency, clarity, and vibrancy; this is what will attract people toward you.
