How to Make Time for Success: Be Intentional and Act Now

We are all aware that life is too short, which means that time is the most valuable asset. So what’s stopping most people from being more successful? Success isn’t accidental; you need to be intentional and make time for success. We are constantly bombarded with claims and promises about how we can get wealthier, more attractive, or more influential overnight without really putting much effort into it. All of these claims have one thing in common: they are based on the wrong belief that life is too short.

Make time for success: life isn’t that short.

We’ve all heard it. In fact, many of us have heard it so many times that we have started to believe it’s true. If you look at the statistics, however, you’ll see that the average life span of human beings is getting longer. From a spiritual point of view, life is eternal. So, whether life is too long or too short, it depends on your perspective.

Here’s the thing: It’s impossible to build the life of your dreams in 24 hours. There’s no shortcut to success. There’s no silver bullet. Success is earned by hard work over time. And the good news is, you have plenty of time to do it. The moment you realize how important your time is, your perspective changes, and the way you invest your time changes as well. Once you understand what makes you unique in this world, you become intentional about how you spend every single minute of the day.

Make your time count: time is the most valuable asset

The biggest lie someone can tell themselves is, “I don’t have enough time.” In the US, people spend an average of 245 minutes a day working. That is merely 4 hours of work a day. They also spend roughly 8 hours and 48 minutes a day sleeping, 96 minutes a day helping others, 122 minutes a day doing housework, 57 minutes taking care of themselves, and 63 minutes eating and drinking.

According to the same statistic, the average person spends 292 minutes per day doing leisure activities, or approximately 5 hours per day. Imagine how your life would change if you spent those 5 hours in a more productive way over the long term.

Technology has advanced so much, and yet most people have not embraced change. Managing our housework, our sleep, and our diet has become easier than ever. The times have changed, but the way most people invest their time hasn’t. So many people are still trading their time for money. But if you look at the people who get paid the most, you’ll see that most of them get paid for the value they bring, not for the time they spend in the office.

Be your best self by making the minutes in a day matter. It’s your value that you get paid for. All of us have been programmed to believe that we need to trade our time for money. How can you stop trading time for money and start trading value instead?

Make time your most valued asset

You can’t change how much time you have in the day, but you can change how that time is invested. Start adjusting your schedule so it serves the goals you want to achieve. Time is not the enemy, your perception of it is. You can start by spending 15 minutes a day learning a new skill. If you do this consistently, it can change your life. Life is never too short. You have all the time you need in order to live the life of your dreams.

Remember:

  • Once you realize the value you bring to the table, you become more intentional about how you invest your time.
  • Whether you think life is too long or too short depends only on your perspective. What do you choose to believe?
  • There is only one way to success: be intentional and act now.
  • It’s your value that you get paid for, not your time.
  • The times have changed, but the way most people spend their time hasn’t.
  • Does your calendar serve your goals? Start doing things that will ultimately contribute to living the life of your dreams.
