You get 1440 minutes in a day; use these to determine how to be your best self. Nobody knows how many total minutes you have in a lifetime, but you do know how many minutes are in a day. All of us are allotted the same number of minutes every day.
When tackling big goals and tasks, it can be hard not to get overwhelmed. Just remember: It’s all about taking things one step at a time. Little by little, you’ll get closer and closer each day to achieving your objectives and becoming stronger than before!
D.E.C.I.D.E. how to be your best self
You’re in the driver’s seat, but first, you must decide. This means actively looking at how you use your 1440 minutes in a day. Then you must ruthlessly eliminate those activities that are unproductive or unhealthy, such as binge-watching Netflix, eating junk food, and drinking excessively. Instead, level up your wellness by opting for growth opportunities, personal development initiatives, and thought leadership. Make DECIDE part of your daily vocabulary – make today count!
D: Show Dedication
We understand the importance of staying motivated and committed to achieving your goals. That’s why it’s imperative to set a clear vision of what you’re striving towards—something so motivating that you’ll never give up. Is it dedicating yourself to your business, providing for your children, creating an independent lifestyle, or leaving a legacy behind for future generations? Whatever it is, remind yourself daily why this cause is so essential that you’ll never turn away from it. What are you truly dedicated to?
E: Eat healthy
You have the power to invest in yourself and determine how to be your best self. Don’t take advice from others and simply follow a one-size-fits-all diet plan. Instead, analyze your body type and goals, getting a full panel of your body levels before deciding what’s best for you. Make sure to also look into the right supplements, which can help support your needs. Eating healthily is within reach; take ownership of your diet to achieve positive results.
C: Be Committed
Are you committed or just interested? Success requires dedication. If you are serious about achieving your goals, you must be willing to commit to the practices and routines that will lead you to success. While it may take some time to reap the rewards of your hard work, those who remain steadfast will eventually reach their desired outcomes. Individuals who are committed are more likely to find long-term success than those who fail to stay the course.
I: I am Mantra
Living life can sometimes lead us to put our hobbies aside and forego things that bring us happiness. That’s why I’m a strong proponent of self-motivation. Finding your mantra is key to remembering why you do what you do. The right words can incredibly impact our attitude, outlook, and mindset; use them wisely to stay motivated and pointed in the right direction. I am brave; I am a healthy eater; and I am a successful business owner. These are all examples of “I Am Mantra.”
D: Don’t delay
If you’re ready to commit, the time is now. Our internal voice has incredible power and can spur us forward or hold us back. You may have to consider the cost of achieving your goals; what might you need to sacrifice? Don’t wait, as we don’t always know what tomorrow will bring; take action today instead.
A great place to start is simply by not hitting snooze and rising on time each day without excuses. Rather than going for drastic change, focus on small wins and build from there. Set aside 10-15 minutes each day to review your goals and adjust your behaviors accordingly. Every minute counts.
E: Engage
It is critical to reflect on your goals on a daily basis to ensure success. Take time each day to applaud yourself when you meet your goals and forgive yourself when you don’t. Finding a community that can keep you accountable and works with you to set achievable objectives is also helpful. At the end of the day, success requires focus and dedication; only if you put in the effort will results follow.
Everything you do needs alignment to get you to your goals. Don’t focus on the big, overarching plan that will take time to get to. Each day, you can take a step toward your goals. One day, one step at a time, you can be your best self and achieve success.
How to be your best self: Take charge of your life
In order to get your life on track, you must take the wheel. Choose not to be driven by other people’s beliefs and take back control of your decisions. Determine each morning that it will be a positive day, full of progress and healthy habits.
When you DECIDE to make the minutes in a day matter, consider the following factors:
- Don’t delay; start today. We only have a short amount of time to live; don’t waste it.
- First, determine your WHY. Your WHY should be so important to you that it is impossible to turn away from it.
- Don’t worry about the overarching goal first. Give yourself small daily goals to work toward, focusing on one day and one step at a time.
- You have to commit. You will achieve your goals if you are committed and focused on your why.
- Celebrate the little victories to keep going.
