Defining Corporate Family Values – I’ll Do Me, You Do You Boo!

Corporate family values are about creating a culture and everything that’s involved in this process. There’s one value that we’ll focus on today: the value of focusing on your own goals, not the goals of others. Or, in other words, why you should stop trying to keep up with the Joneses and just do you.

Corporate family values – focus on your goals, not the goals of others

Your goals are what matter. Waiting for someone else to tell you where to go or what to do is not the path. The most important thing, in the end, is to ask your inner self and trust it.

Today’s world is full of comparisons. But it becomes dangerous when we start comparing ourselves to others all the time. It can lead to depression and anxiety. It’s impossible for you to stand in a place of strength if you are looking at what everyone else is doing. Here’s the reality: There’s always a bigger boat, a prettier person, or a happier family. You can’t measure up to the lives of people on social media. Why? You’ll never be able to do what they do because they are not you. You don’t know what’s really going on in their lives. You have access only to the highlights of their lives. You don’t know what skeletons they might be hiding behind closed doors. No matter how hard you try, you’ll never be able to be them.

You do YOU, boo!

In order for you to do what they do, you have to do what they do, and here’s what they do: You have to cry when they cry. You have to shout when they shout. Because here’s the thing: Everybody has crap that builds up that no one ever sees. That crap could be fear, worry, shame, or doubt. Why does everybody carry those things? We are all born with a sinful nature.

The sinful nature can be summed up in the following way: “We do what we do, knowing we are not supposed to do it, and we don’t do the things we know we should do.” You can’t deny that there are things in your life that you do that you know you shouldn’t do. We all have crap that builds in our lives. So today, challenge yourself to forget the Joneses.

Instead of trying to keep up with others, know who you are and try being the best version of yourself. Bring what you can do to the table and just do you. Whatever vision you have for your future, just don’t let the world dim your light. You don’t need anybody else’s approval. Just go do your thing, boo! Everybody brings what they can to the table and that’s what makes it a great feast!

Takeaway: corporate family values

  • Be a leader. You can’t wait for someone else to tell you where to go or what to do because this is on their path.
  • You need to trust your inner self, even if nobody else has faith in your vision.
  • No matter how hard you try, you’ll never be able to be like someone else because you have access only to the highlights of their life.
  • Stop trying to keep up with the Joneses and just do you.
