If you wish to create a lasting impact, you need to know how to use your gifts to create the life you want. We have all been given gifts, but we use them in different ways. Those who use their gifts to shine a light on other people are the ones who become winners.
Somebody might know your name, but if they don’t know what’s on your heart, they won’t be a passionate supporter but just a distant follower. If we communicate our “why,” people naturally follow. If you are not well-known in your niche, part of the reason is that you are not using your gifts in the right way.
Use your gifts to impact the world
Two days ago, French Montana inspired tens of thousands of people to show up in Times Square to celebrate the Moroccan football team. How did he do it, and how does it impact the world?
French Montana is the first artist born in Africa to sell over 10 million units of his music. He has raised $226 million for Ugandan healthcare. He moved to the US at the age of 13 and worked hard every single day for the last 20 years. For eight years, he interviewed other musicians while trying to find his own path in the industry. When the doors kept closing on him and opening for others, he knew that he had to work harder than everyone else. He had to outperform the competition in order to get a shot.
Choose to show up consistently
We all have to outperform the competition sometimes in order to live the life of our dreams. French Montana is successful not just because he makes great songs but because he continues to show up and do what it takes to succeed. Most importantly, he does that in an authentic way. He uses his influence to make an impact for a cause he truly cares about. And guess what? He has passionate supporters because of that.
People will line up for you if you stay humble and true to who you are. It’s not enough to have influence; you need to use your influence to give back and serve others. But for that to happen, you need to know your “why” and your “how.”
Using your unique gifts to create the life you want
Do you use your resources to help others? Anything is possible if you believe in yourself and persevere. A lot of times, we give up too soon. We give up before that big breakthrough. Take a look inside yourself and be your own cheerleader.
Proverbs 18:16 goes, “A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.” You don’t have to shout out loud who you are or what you do when you work on your talent, as it will be evident. When you are a giver and give with purity, it comes back to you. People will bless you for recognizing and honoring them. This is what truly makes you a winner.
Remember:
- If you just keep doing what you are destined to do, people will naturally follow.
- When you use your gifts correctly, you won’t have to shout who you are because it will be obvious.
- Put your purpose at the forefront. It’s not enough for people to know your name. They also need to know what’s in your heart.
